About Us
Hello, my name is Yan Liu, and I’m a Feng Shui master from China. My journey into the world of incense and Feng Shui began years ago when a close friend of mine, a woman in her 30s, was suffering from depression. After trying numerous treatments without success, we discovered that using specific incense helped alleviate her symptoms and brought her peace of mind. This experience inspired me to share the ancient Chinese tradition of incense, which has been passed down for thousands of years, with people all over the world. I hope it can help many others, just as it helped her. Through this journey, I also found that the healing properties of incense are backed by science.
First, let me introduce what Feng Shui is.
Feng Shui is a centuries-old practice with profound wisdom and complexity. Simply put, it refers to the study of the most suitable environments for people (both the living and the deceased). This website focuses on Feng Shui for homes and living spaces. Good Feng Shui in your environment can bring prosperity, success, and happiness to you and your descendants. On the contrary, poor Feng Shui can have negative effects.
At the core of Feng Shui are the concepts of yin-yang and the five elements. Yin-yang represents the two opposite forces in the universe, such as male and female, sunny and rainy days. The five elements—wood, fire, earth, metal, and water—are the basic building blocks of the universe. Feng Shui teaches that the interaction between yin-yang and the five elements determines the nature and destiny of things. In Feng Shui practice, we strive to balance and harmonize these energies to create a peaceful and prosperous environment.
Energy Flow and Qi: The Forces That Shape Our Lives
Qi refers to the energy field in an environment, composed of the energies emitted by various elements, objects, and living beings. Feng Shui emphasizes that the flow and balance of qi are essential to our health and well-being. By adjusting the layout and arrangement of a home or office, we can influence the flow of energy and create a positive qi field. For instance, keeping spaces clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated, as well as using incense, plants, and artwork, can improve the quality of qi.
Why Incense Enhances Feng Shui
In my experience with arranging homes and offices, I often encounter dark, poorly lit spaces. These types of environments can negatively affect both health and fortune. How can we resolve this? Regularly burning incense in your home can uplift the energy (yang energy), as incense has a powerful revitalizing effect. It also helps prevent mold and dampness, which is especially beneficial for homes that are dark or humid. By increasing the yang energy in your space, incense reduces negative influences and even diminishes negative emotions.

Feng Shui with Incense: How to Improve Feng Shui at Home
With a growing appreciation for Feng Shui culture, burning incense has become a popular way to enhance Feng Shui in the home. Not only does burning incense purify the air, but it also improves Feng Shui, bringing good fortune to the family. But how can you burn incense at home to enhance Feng Shui? We hope our website can help you better understand the methods and techniques of Feng Shui incense burning, making your life more prosperous and fulfilling.
1. Origins and Development of Feng Shui Incense Burning
The practice of burning incense has deep roots in China, with historical records tracing it back to the Western Zhou dynasty. It was believed that the fragrant smoke carried prayers and offerings to the gods, making incense burning a way to show reverence and seek blessings. Similarly, in India, sandalwood has long been used in rituals to honor deities and purify spaces. Indian merchants burn sandalwood in their shops before opening, believing it attracts wealth, good fortune, and customers while dispelling negative energy. This ancient tradition of using incense for purification and prosperity has endured for thousands of years and remains relevant today.
2. Choosing the Type and Material of Incense
In Feng Shui, different types of incense have distinct effects. For example, sandalwood can purify the air and eliminate negative energy; ambergris, also known as "Dragon Blood" in Chinese, can ward off evil spirits and enhance the energy field; agarwood can attract and accumulate wealth, among other benefits. The material of the incense is also crucial. Generally, natural plant-based incense is more beneficial to health than synthetic fragrances. When selecting incense, we recommend choosing natural, plant-based options.
3. Determining the Time and Place for Burning Incense
Incense has its own Feng Shui energy, creating a harmonious atmosphere in our living spaces. To make the most of its benefits, we can adjust when and where we burn incense based on the time of day, location, and even the season. In the morning, lighting incense purifies the air and sets a positive tone for the day, signaling a fresh start. On cold and damp days, such as during rain or snow, burning incense helps balance the yin and yang energies in the environment. In the evening, it soothes the mind and refreshes the space. Additionally, on special occasions like New Year's Eve, incense can be burned as a prayer for peace and harmony.
4. Enhancing the Effect of Incense
You can enhance the power of incense by placing items such as Liuli(琉璃), crystals, or Jade around the incense burner. These additions can amplify the positive effects of the incense, further contributing to the harmony and prosperity of your home environment.
Why Engage in Cleansing Burns?
Spaces retain the energy of people and activities, and cleansing burns can help restore vitality. Consider performing Feng Shui cleansing burns in the following situations:
- After illness or injury
- After an argument or when there is negative energy
- When moving into a new home
- After having guests, visitors, or parties
- Whenever you feel stuck
- After highly emotional events, such as the loss of a pet or loved one, or a breakup
- After watching a horror movie or negative news
- Following negative or emotional world events
Consider conducting a burn at least once a week as part of your spiritual hygiene, and increase the frequency as needed. If everything in your personal life seems to be going wrong, from relationships to finances, it may be that the energy around you is negative or stagnant. If you've been feeling tired, irritable, or physically unwell, this energy is likely negative. To get the stagnant energy moving again and clear away negative energy, consider performing Feng Shui and cleansing burns.
Safety Note
Never leave burning items unattended in a room. Even objects that only release smoke can ignite flammable materials or cause skin burns. Always use caution.
Release Negative Energy and Welcome Positive Energy
You can combine this with prayers or affirmations to invite more positive energy. Try reciting prayers, affirmations, blessings, and positive thoughts while performing a cleansing burn.
